Join Open Sky Senior Tour Leader Temu Nana and professional photographer Michael Downey on a two-week exploration of one of southern Africa’s most incredible countries. Designed by and for photographers, we’ll capture all of Namibia’s best landscapes and wildlife in the right light, at the right time. From the Skeleton Coast to the Salt Pans, the old diamond-mining town of Kolmanskop to the villages of the Himba, or the massive dunes of Sossusvlei to remarkable Etosha National Park, Namibia is unlike any place on the planet, one we can’t wait to share with you.

TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

  1. •Morning and afternoon shoots at Kolmanskop, a diamond-mining town now reclaimed by the desert.

  2. •2.5 days exploring world-famous Etosha National Park, with its huge saltpan attracting incredible wildlife at close quarters.

  3. •An afternoon visit with the Himba tribe, one of the last truly nomadic tribes in southern Africa.

  4. •Explore some of the tallest and most spectacularly beautiful dunes in the world at Sossusvlei.

  5. •Sunrise visit and shoot at Deadvlei (pictured above), one of the most striking photo opportunities in southern Africa.

  6. •After a morning on the Skeleton Coast, visit rock carvings over 5,500 years old at Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  7. •Access a number of sites off hours via special permissions, for optimal light conditions.

  8. •Marvel at and photograph some of the most spectacular night skies on Earth.

  9. •Stay at deluxe hotels & lodges throughout the itinerary.

  10. •Experience the benefits of a trip led by Namibia expert Temu Nana, your personal trip leader and second photographer, returning for a fifth year to Namibia in 2021.
